Independence Day: Resurgence
As Lead FX Artist on Independence Day: Resurgence, I developed the destruction rigs for large-scale building and city-wide destruction, while also managing a team that utilized these tools across multiple sequences. My role required both technical development and artistic direction to ensure the FX captured the film’s high-impact, large-scale destruction.

Hands-On FX:
- Building & City Destruction Rigs – Designed and implemented procedural destruction systems, ensuring:
- Realistic large-scale structural collapse, handling materials like concrete, steel, and glass.
- Dynamic debris generation to maintain a sense of scale and physics accuracy.
- Secondary destruction elements, including fire, dust, and explosion-driven interactions.
- Art Direction for Destruction FX – Managed shot composition and destruction layouts,

FX Supervision & Leadership:
- Led the FX team, overseeing the execution of all major destruction, creature interactions, and large-scale simulations.
- Collaborated closely with directors, VFX supervisors, and department leads to ensure FX aligned with the film’s creative vision and technical requirements.
- Supervised a team of FX artists, providing technical guidance and workflow optimizations to enhance efficiency while maintaining creative control over the scope and visual impact of destruction sequences.
- Optimized FX workflows and shot execution.
